Good News Theological Seminary (GNTS) stands as a beacon of theological education in Ghana, tracing its origins to 1971 when it was established as Good News Theological College & Seminary. The institution was founded to offer a solid Christ-centered and contextual biblical and theological education primarily tailored for African Independent Churches (AICs).
What sets GNTS apart is its unique position as the sole interdenominational tertiary theological institution in Ghana sponsored by African Independent Churches, extending its training to leaders and members not only in Ghana but also across various African countries. While rooted in serving AICs, GNTS warmly welcomes individuals from diverse Christian traditions and backgrounds, embodying its commitment to inclusivity.
At GNTS, the focus extends beyond academic pursuits, aiming to equip students with the character, knowledge, and skills essential for effective leadership and development in the African and global context. This holistic approach to education fosters an environment where individuals are nurtured spiritually, academically, and professionally, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world at large. GNTS is dedicated to fostering an environment of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community engagement, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a transformative theological education.

Good News Theological Seminary (GNTS) has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1971 as Good News Theological College & Seminary. The Seminary was founded through a collaborative effort between member-churches of the Pentecostal Association of Ghana (now known as the Council for African Instituted Churches), the Mennonite Mission Network, Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana, Trinity Theological Seminary, and other distinguished church leaders and scholars.
GNTS has been the only interdenominational tertiary theological institution in Ghana sponsored by African Independent Churches, offering training to leaders and members in Ghana and other African countries. The Diploma in Pastoral Ministry and the Bachelor of Theology programs of the Seminary have been accredited by the National Accreditation Board (now known as Ghana Tertiary Education Commission) since 2008, with the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission, and Culture serving as the mentoring institution.
Over the past 52 years, GNTS has been committed to providing quality theological education and fostering unity among different denominations and church traditions, making it a cornerstone of theological education in Ghana. The Seminary has played a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of God's word and enhance their ministry skills, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives and communities.
